Our aim is action. Count with us.

While this initiative doesn’t include demands, it’s our hope to provide fuel for those who are articulating specific demands. We don’t, however, simply wish to be a repository for statistics.

We are committed to reducing harm to our traditionally marginalized colleagues—specifically BIPOC artists, women, artists with disabilities, and non-binary and transgender artists—and to improving conditions for all, for creating a theater that looks, sounds, feels, and absolutely is inclusive of all who seek a place for themselves within it.

If you, individually or with others in your region or discipline, are engaged in similar research, resource gathering, and action toward equitable representation and just practice in the theater, we invite you to count with us or share resources with our community.

If you have a research study or project and want to find out about joining the Counting Together coalition, please send a brief description of your initiative using the below form, along with the best way to contact you or your collaborators.
